Son of Peter Kiernan (a Labourer) and Bridget Doyle. Served in Athlone Irish Volunteers under Col. Seamus Farrell. Married Ellen 'Eileen' McHugh on 29th April 1926 in Killoran Church, Tubbercurry, County Sligo. Was President of the P.T.A.A. Centre in Strokestown. Retired on 2nd May 1960 and settled in Elphin Street, Strokestown, County Roscommon. Died 22nd July 1964 in Strandhill, Sligo in Roscommon County Hospital. He is buried in Tuam Cemtery, Galway. |
