Son of Patrick McGill (a Groom) and Mary Canning. Married Anne O'Leary on 15th January 1924 in Wexford Town Church. They had one son and one daughter. Spent 21 years stationed in Roscrea, County Tipperary. Retired in 1963. Died in August 1977 at Cherrymount, Clonmel, County Tipperary. He is buried in Mount St. Josephs Cemetery in Roscrea. His brother was also a Garda: Michael McGill (Reg No. 957). |
