Charles John Armstrong was born in Kildoran, Abbeyshrule, County Longford. He was the son of James Armstrong (a Farmer and ex-RIC Sub Constable) and Hannah Craythorne. Married Elizabeth Casey on 4th August 1926 in Cahir, County Tipperary. Was stationed in the following places: Tipperary Town Tipperary (29/03/1923), Charleville Cork/East (20/10/1926), Carrigtwohill Cork/East (18/08/1930), Ballincollig Cork/East (18/12/1930), Wexford Town Wexford (16/08/1932), Killurin Wexford (18/07/1952), Wexford Town Wexford (7/11/1953) until he retired with the rank of Sergeant on 4th September 1954. |
