| Further Notes: | Thomas 'Tom' Clyne was the son of James Byrne (a Farmer) and Eliza Duignan. Served in the Royal Irish Constabulary (R.I.C.) for three years and his service number was 68938. Eventually joined the Civic Guards in 1922. Left the Gardai at some point and became employed as a labourer. Married Mary Quinn on 10th January 1938 in St. Joseph's Church, Galway City. Died from illness on 20th December 1945 in Galway Central Hospital. His brother was also a Garda: Edward Clyne (Reg No. 2090) who died while serving in Kilbeggan in 1947. | ||
