Son of John Beatty (a farmer) and Catherine Mooney. Served in the 1st Northern Division of the IRA. First Garda to be stationed in Moville, County Donegal. Helped locals in community engegement such as cutting the turf. Married Teresa Mulligan on 22nd December 1941 in Dublin. Retired from the Gardai on 30th May 1953 and resided in Tremone Bar, Carrowmena, Culdaff, Donegal. Died on 14th July 1970 in Moville. He is buried in St. Columba's Cemetery, Ballinacrea, Lecamey, Moville. |
