| Further Notes: | Daniel Joseph Gorman was actually born on *12 January 1896 to Michael Gorman (a Farmer) and Ellen Donnelly. Served in the Ballinamuck Company of the Longford IRA Brigade. It is unknown why he left the Civic Guards, but IRA Pension Records has a written statement from Sean MacEoin saying he resigned on account of his sympathies to the Anti-Treaty IRA. Married Ellen Dolan on 19th November 1945 in Ballinamuck Church, County Longford. Worked as a farmer. Died on 18th November 1974 in Gaigue, County Longford. He is buried in St. Patricks Cemetery. | ||
