Son of Daniel Godfrey (a Farmer) and Mary Clarke. Married Margaret McGuire on 10th February 1925 in Maryborough (Portlaoise). Promoted to Sergeant on 1st March 1927. Arrived to Carlow with his family on 16th August 1938. Died while serving on 3rd December 1953 in Mater Hospital Dublin. He is buried in Ballinure Cemetery, Murroe, Co. Limerick. |
