Timothy Carney/Kearney was the son of Thomas Carney (a farmer) and Mary Dillane. Won the O'Duffy Golf and Captain's Prize in Aonach an Gharda in Rathfarnham 5th July 1928. Married Catherine Walsh on 19th November 1936 in the Pro Cathedral, Marlboro Street, Dublin. Catherine died from Childbirth complications on 15th March 1940 in Ardagh, County Longford.He also won prizes for weight throwing and swimming. Retired in 1962 at Croom Co. Limerick, which he was credited to carry out alot of improvements to the coniditions of the external of the Garda Station such as the garden. |
