| Further Notes: | Michael Joseph Kelly was the son of John Kelly (a farmer) and Mary Dowd. His first wife died tragically a few months later when giving birth to their daughter. Sergeant Kelly later re-married to Mary Crowley (from Bandon) on 4th August 1936 in Limerick and had four sons. Died while serving on 19th May 1957 in Fermoy, County Cork and is buried in Kilcrumper Old Cemetery, Fermoy. | ||
