Son of Patrick Gallagher (a farmer) and Rose Clinton. Wrote a Diary during his time as a Civic Guard during the 1920s. Stationed in Athboy Thurles and Borris In Ossory. Married Winifred Hogan on 24th October 1926 in Templederry Church near Nenagh. After Winifred Gallagher died he he married Kate Phela. John Gallagher died 6th October 1983. He is buried in Knock, outside Borris in Ossory, County Laois. |
