He was appointed Company Sergeant at Garda headquarters in Kilmainham in 1933. and later appointed to the Crime Branch. Married Eileen Byrne on 3rd October 1934 in St. Andrew's Church, Dublin. Retired on 21st December 1963 and resided in Crumlin, Dublin. Died on 6th October 1977. He is buried in Deansgrange Cemetery, Dublin. Hi brother was also a Garda: Francis Cunniffe (Reg No. 8616). | ||
