Robert Evan Thorne was the son of William Thorne (Sergeant RIC) and Mary Anne Hunter. Married Lillian Francis Stewart on 4th July 1929 in Aughrim, County Galway. Resided in Mount Merrion, Dublin, Died on 17th July 1980 in Dublin. He is buried in Deansgrange Cemetery, Dublin. His brothers was also a Garda: William Thorne (Reg No. 2311) and Wilfred Thorne (Reg No. 5550). |
