Son of James Duffy (a Farmer) and Margaret Reilly. Was appointed Assistant Distict Clerk to MacCurtain Street Garda Station in 1928, a position he would hold for 20 years. Married Margaret Duggan on 11th September 1934 in Christ King Church, Cork City. Died while serving on 1st October 1948 as a result on injuries sustained in MacCurtain Street Garda Barracks around 1945. He is buried in St. Finbarr's Cemetery in Cork. He is commemorated on a Memorial at Garda Headquarters along with over 1,800 others who died while serving. |
