Known as 'Kev', he was the son of John Kivlehan (a Tailor) and Mary Cooney. Worked as a labourer before joining. Served in IRA under Commandant Hubert Lenehan in the Roscommon Brigade. Stationed in Dundrum Dublin (1939) and the Canteen Staff in Garda Depot Dublin (1940). Was proficient in Irish. Was married to Anne Campion (Waitress of Melrose Avenue, native of County Kilkenny) on 11th August 1930 in Dublin and died 30th December 1940. Got remarried to Annie Murphy (a Waitress of 10 Shelmartin Terrace, native of Killarney County Kerry) on 28th April 1943 in Pro Cathrdral Marlboro Street.Retired 22nd September 1958 and Resided in Fitzroy Avenue, Drumcondra. Died 20th June 1960 at St. Kevin's Hpspital Dublin. Buried in Glasnevin Cemetery. |
