| Further Notes: | Sylvester Robert McSweeney was born in Clarendon Road, Dublin. He was the son of James Paul McSweeney ( a Fire Brigade Man) and Susan Elizabeth Bell. Married Nellie Gaffney on 29th April 1924 in Star of the Sea Church in Donnybrook, Dublin. In 1933 he was no longer a Garda when he was convicted in the court at Swinford County Mayo on five counts of embezzelment of funds while he was the Weights and Measurements Inspector for the Gardai in the district and was given a 3 month suspended sentence. | ||
