George Thomas Hennessy was born in Navan, County Meath. He was the son of Patrick Hennessy (a Soldier) and Emily Deare. Served in the British Army during the War of Independence. Married Margaret Madden on 14th June 1939 in Tynagh, Portumna, County Galway. Was appointed Food and Drugs Inspector for his District. Died while serving on 29th December 1958 in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, County Galway. His brother was also a Garda: William Hennessy (Reg No. 3584). |
