Valentine Patrick Funchion was born in Newmarket, Knocktopher, County Kilkenny. He was the son of Pierce Funchion (a National Schoolmaster) and Johanna Thompson. Married Mary Agnes Murphy on 12th July 1927 in St. Joseph's Church, Limerick City. Reired and resided in Courtown Road, Gorey, County Wexford. Died on 29th July 1959. He is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery, Gorey. |
