Patrick Thomas Allen was the son of Patrick Allen (a labourer) and Mary Burke. Promoted to Sergeant. Was stationed in Athleague County Roscommon. Married Annie (Beirne) Allen on 28th January 1926 in Elphin Church Roscommon. They had eleven children together. Later posted to Oldcastle in County Meath and Kinnity County Offaly. Finally stationed in Pallaskenry, County Limerick. Died while serving on 10th June 1949 at Barrington's Hospital Limerick. He is buried in Annaghdown Cemetery in Galway. His name is listed on the Garda Memorial unveiled in 2022 in the Garda Depot Phoenix Park for those who died while serving across Ireland. |
