Edward Alphonsus Reynolds was born in Ballylinan, Queen's County (Laois). Son of John Reynolds (Head Constable RIC) and Mary Frances Gallagher. Promoted to Sergeant in 1924 and then to Superintendent in 1925. Married Eileen Bartley on 8th September 1931 in Fermoy Church, County Cork. Promoted to Chief Superintendent in 1935 and finally became Assistant Commissioner in 1965. Retired in 1968. Resided in Beechpark Grove, Foxrock, Dublin. Died on 6th February 1979. He is buried in St Peter's Churchyard, Bray, County Wicklow |
