| Further Notes: | John Joseph Doddy was born on 21 July 1896 and was the son of Malachy Doddy (RIC Constable) and Mary McCann. Promoted to Sergeant on 1st September 1922. Married Florence Mary McDonagh on 30th April 1930 in Bunninadden, Tubbercurry, County Sligo. They had 4 sons. He retired on 9th April 1957. Died 10th July 1969 on Main Street, Elphin, He is buried in Elphin. His two brothers were also Civic Guards: Detective Sergeant Malachy Doddy and Sergeant James Doddy | ||
