| Further Notes: | Alfred Andrew Hayes was the son of James Hayes (Sergeant 5th Battalion Connaught Rangers) and Anna Maria Duignan. Married Annie Fitzpatrick on 12th October 1925 in Dolphins Barn Church Dublin. Was a handball champion, winning the championship in Ireland in 1927. Was attached to the Children's Court in Dublin. Resided in Marino, Dublin. Died while serving on 20th October 1965 at the Mater Hospital (six weeks before he was due to retire). He is buried in Deansgrange Cemetery, Dublin. | ||
