| Further Notes: | Patrick Francis Ballantine was the son of Patrick Ballantine (a Farmer) and Bridget McDonagh. Was among the frist civic gaurds to open the station in Clonmany, County Donegal. Married Catherine Costello on 30th April 1934 in St. Mary's Church, Haddington Road, Dublin. Was a Weights and Measure Sergeant. Retired on 9th May 1964. Died while serving on 8th March 1974 in Strandhill Road, Sligo Town. He is buried in St Patrick's Cemetery, Strandhill, County Sligo, Ireland. His brother was also a Garda: Joseph Ballantine (Reg No. 5195). | ||
