| Further Notes: | Patrick Gunning was born in Cloonagh, Toomour, County Sligo. He was the son of James Gunning (a Farmer) and Margaret White. Joined the RIC on 18th Janaury 1915 (Service Number 68438) until he was dismissed on 2nd October 1920. Married Honor McDonough on 11th August 1924 in Killanin Church, Oughterard, County Galway. They had 4 children. Spent most of his career stationed as a Sergeant in Coole, County Galway. Upon retiring he took up farming and settled in Ballinalack, Mullingar, Westmeath, Died on 6th October 1965 in Ballinalack He is buried in Ballinafad, County Sligo. | ||
