| Further Notes: | James Joseph Acton was the son of John Acton (a Farmer) and Bridget Holland. He was a fluent Irish speaker and involved in athletics. Married Anna Garvey on 17th November 1938 in St. Jospeh's Church, Galway City. Died suddenly while serving on 6th Janaury 1950 in Kildvagh, Ballyconnell, Cavan. He is buried in Moycullen, County Galway. His brother was also a Garda: John Acton (Reg No. 5930). | ||
