Son of David Harrington and Margaret Elizabeth Greaney. Married Eileen McNamara of Lickadoon Limerick on 12 February 1930 and they had four children. At 10.25 am on 17th April, 1944, Garda Harrington was on duty in Nenagh Garda Station when he was approached by Garda James Lynch of the station party who then produced a revolver and shot Garda Harrington dead and then Lynch shot himself dead. He is buried in near his hometown at Ardcrone Burial Ground, Currans, County Kerry. |
