Son of John Griffin and Bridget Somers. Married Bridget 'Bridie' Devitt on 28th July 1934 in Ennis Cathedral, County Clare. Promoted to Sergeant on 1st October 1923 and was Weights and Measure Sergeant in Clare District. Reached the rank of Inspector on 23rd October 1941 before he was finally promoted to Superintendent on 9th February 1955. Retired on 18th April 1966 while stationed in Adare County Limerick. Was an active member afterwards wth Adare Manor Golf Club. He is buried in Ennistymon Cemetery. |
