Son of William Motherway (a Labourer) and Bridget Hayes. During the War of Independence served in the Flying Column of the IRA in Cork under Tom Barry. Married Anna Nolan on 1st August 1928 in Ashford Church, County Wicklow. Retired and resided in George's Avenue, Blackrock, Dublin. Died on 7th June 1966 at his home. He was buried with full military honours in Deansgrange Cemetery, Dublin. |
