| Further Notes: | John F. McLoughlin was the son of John McLoughlin (Constable RIC) and Sarah Jane Heffernan. Was married with two chidlren.On 10th November 1943 at Ballyduff Garda Barracks, County Waterford, Garda McLoughlin was discovered dead in his room, having a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. An inquest held by the Deputy Coroner of West Waterford concluded that this was carried out by the Garda 'while temporarily insane' as no other motives could be found for his death. John is buried in St. Martin's Churchyard Cemetery in Ballycullane, County Wexford. | ||
