| Further Notes: | Son of James Lally (a farmer) and .Mary Geoghegan. Served in Drogheda. Stationed in Kerry (Headford), Dublin (Malahide), Louth (Dundalk), Dublin (2 Coy, Kevin Street and Store Street) and Louth/Meath (Collon and Drogheda). Also worked in Garda Headquarters Depot Phoenix Park. Married Annie Cooney (a tailoress) on 6th June 1934 in St. Patrick's Church Dundalk. Theirs son Jim Lally later became a Commandant in the camp Adjucant in the Irish Army at Gromanstown, while George became a Priest. The Lally family resided in Yellowbatter, Drogheda and was actively involved in local sports clubs. Garda Lally while serving on 16th September 1960 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hopsital in Drogheda. He is buried in St. Peter's Cemetery in Drogheda. | ||
