Born 13 July 1901 accroding to birth record. Son of Michael Coghlan (a farmer) and Bridget Hassett. He left the Civic Guards during the Irish Civil War and joined the Dublin Metropolitan Police on 2nd March 1923 (See Reg No. 11805 - page 237 in DMP Register). Married Mary Ellen Reidy on 30th April 1928 in Kilrush. retired from the DMP on 12th July 1964. He died on 15th June 1983. |
