| Further Notes: | Jack Gleeson was the son of Martin Gleeson (a publican) and Delia Begley. He was mainly stationed in Kinvara, Co. Galway, where he held the rank of Sergeant. Jack married Maire 'Maura' O'Dea, a National School Teacher on 27th August 1940 at Ballyvaughan. They had two daughters. He died in service on the 10th December 1948 at Galway Central Hospital, aged 45.He is buried in Mountcross Old Graveyard Kinvarra. He was the cousin of Garda John King (Reg No. 5588) who died in Service in 1926 and Garda Michael King (Reg No. 4476) of Kilkishen, County Clare. | ||
