| Further Notes: | William Denis O'Brien was the son of John O'Brien (Ex-RIC Constable) and Julia Ryan. He was put on trial with two of his brtoehr on the charge of murdering army pensioner George Sheehan at Boherbee in Silvermines on 4th January 1918. However they would all be eventually acquitted of the murder. Eventually left the Civic Guards and settled in Silvermines. Married Catherine Tobin on 20th July 1942 in Silvermines. Died on 29th June 1970 in Silvermines. His brother was also a Garda: John O'Brien (Reg No. 576). | ||
