| Further Notes: | John Joe King was the son of John King ( a farmer) and Margaret Begley. The family story is told that Garda King was witness to some shocking event, a neighbour or someone there gave him a glass of whiskey to settle the shock, and it was this glass of whiskey which caused the gastric ulcer to perforate. He died while in service as a result of the ulcer on 22nd October 1926 in Kilkenny Hopsital. His brother Michael King was also a Civic Guard (Reg No. 4476) | ||
