| Further Notes: | Son of Patrick Carney (a Farmer) and Bridget Moran. Left the Gardai and emigrated to Canada in 1925. Married Eleanor Moran on 28th April 1926. They had two sons. Later became a member of the Canadian Mounted Police (Mountie). He was also a Railway Constable. Following the death of his wife Eleanor Carney, he was married then to EdithPalfreynam in 1963. Robert died on 4th December 1977 in Vancouver. He is buried in Saint Peter's Roman Catholic Cemetery New Westminster, Metro, Vancouver, Canada. His grandson Mark Carney became Prime Minister of Canada in 2025. | ||
