Son of William Roche (Railway Official) and . Served with the North Kildare Battalion old IRA as a Quartermaster. Was present during the Civic Guard Mutiny in Kildare. Married Elizabeth Moran on 6th November 1928 in Ennistymon Church. Retired on 30th August 1962. Died on 8th July 1991 in Monareen, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. He is buried in Lisboney Cemetery, Nenagh. His two sons Liam and Michael were also Gardai. |
